For the past two years, this section was called "Thinking." Honest name. Flat delivery. It sounded like every other consultancy's blog, a place where frameworks go to be validated and no one says anything that might be wrong.
That's not us. Never was.
The work we do at EspressoShot starts in conversation. Not in slide decks, not in Notion documents, not in status meetings. It starts when a founder pulls up a chair, orders something strong, and says the thing they haven't said to their board yet. The real thing. The uncomfortable thing.
The best strategic thinking happens at the counter, not in the conference room.
Why The Café
Espresso is made under pressure. You take boiling water and force it through finely ground beans at nine bars of atmospheric pressure. What comes out is concentrated, intense, and, if the barista knows what they're doing, exactly right.
That's the metaphor for our consulting work. And a café is where that happens. It's not a boardroom. It's not a lecture hall. It's a place where people sit across from each other and think together, with no hierarchy, no Roberts Rules of Order, no "let's take this offline."
So The Café is our version of that. A place where we write about what we're actually seeing in the market, in founder dynamics, in brand strategy, in the gap between what companies say and what they do.
What you'll find here
One more thing
Everything we've published under "Our Thinking" still lives here, the essays on founder drift, GTM strategies, cross-functional collaboration, the ecommerce brand journey. Same content, new home. The address changed, but the espresso is the same.
Pull up a chair. The counter's open.
